Training Videos

Section 1 – Introduction – 8 Mins

This section covers what Mindfulness is and also what it is not, it explores what mindfulness meditation has to do with resilience and wellness in children and young adults, including a foreword from Professor Sonia Blandford, CEO of Achievement for All and a brief, but interesting, introduction to what science has learnt about the effects of meditation on the brain.

Section 2 – Delivering a Session – 8 Mins

Learn about the resources available and listen to answers to the most frequently asked questions on what we consider useful and important points.  Ultimately we know you’ll move forward and adapt your sessions through your knowledge of the classroom and situations in front of you and that is how it should be as you are at the “Cold Face” as they say.  The accompanying training notes also contain useful points to consider, discuss and action to help the implementation process.

Section 3 – The Practical – 11 Mins

An important lesson around what it might feel like physically, how people might react emotionally and where the mind might go when practicing meditation.  This section provides valuable insight into the experiences children and young adults may have.  Its aim is to help facilitators empathise and be better equipped to understand feedback.

Section 4  – Questions and Answers

This section is currently under development and will include teachers and pupils answering some of the most frequently asked questions.  In the meantime facilitators can download the FAQ sheet should they feel they need more information.

Section 5 – Testimonials, Case Studies and Further Reading

This section is currently under development, but it does contain information on further reading including books and scientific studies and places where you can find more information on training and development in mindfulness meditation.
